'Working on my selection for this Christmas collection set me pondering why so many of my compositions relate to the Christmas season. Several reasons come to mind: the need for contemporary praise and worship songs alongside traditional carols; the opportunity carol services and Christmas concerts offer to celebrate the story for believers and unbelievers alike; and the challenge to capture fresh perspectives where nostalgia, sentiment and folklore can obscure true meaning. All these and more are factors. Yet for me the greatest motivation has been wonder; not just the memories of events, but that God spoke the universe into existence should choose to be born, to live and die and rise again in order to reconcile sinful people like us to himself.'

There is material here suitable for corporate worship, solo performers, bands and choirs, and I hope that you will find songs among them that help you touch the wonder that is the essence of Christmas - the unconditional, breathtaking, risk taking, even reckless love of God.
